On the Malerweg you sleep in hotels, guesthouses (Pensionen), inns, a few hostels and campsites in the towns and villages at the stage ends. Wild camping is not allowed, and all camping is banned in the national park. Rooms for a single night are hard to find from May to October and on holidays, so book ahead. Many hosts give you the free Gästekarte mobil for buses, trains and ferries, and luggage transfer between stages can be booked all year.
