First CapeNature Whale Trail hut, at the foot of Potberg near the Whale Trail office; you sleep here the night before day 1 and it is included in the trail booking. Up to 12 people in three 4-bunk rooms, equipped kitchen with gas stove, solar lights, hot showers and braai wood; bring a sleeping bag and pillow.
CapeNature office and curio shop at Potberg where groups check in from 14:00, attend the compulsory safety briefing and leave their cars in the Whale Trail parking area. Optional porterage moves your luggage box to the next hut each day (R560 per box in 2025-26) and the shuttle from Koppie Alleen brings you back here.
