Sinai Trail emergency & health guide: hospitals, rescue, 123 and travel advice

How to get help where there is almost no phone signal, the nearest hospital for each of the 12 stages, the 2026 UK and US travel advice for South Sinai, and the rules: compulsory Bedouin guides, visas, permits and drones.

In an emergency call 123 for an ambulance or 122 for the police; the Tourist Police are on 126. Egypt has no mountain rescue service and the Sinai Trail team warns that help can take up to two days to reach a remote spot. Tell your guide at once: Bedouin guides organise evacuation by camel to the nearest track, then by jeep, or by helicopter in serious cases. Signal is weak and found only at a few points, so carry a satellite messenger or PLB and know your GPS position. Make sure your insurance covers hiking, scrambling and air evacuation in South Sinai.
