Wild camp of the official 12-day Sinai Trail programme in Farsh Eliyas (Elijah's Basin), the hollow with a cypress tree and chapel just below the summit of Mount Sinai (Jebel Musa); you sleep in your own tent or under the stars and the Bedouin team cooks dinner and breakfast from camel-carried supplies. Nights are cold above 2,000 m; the summit is about 30 minutes above camp for sunset and sunrise.
Small Bedouin ecolodge with stone chalets and a shower block in Wadi Shreij, on the trail as it climbs to Mount Sinai. Listed on OpenStreetMap; its website was down in October 2026, so call first.
Checked online in October 2026. Places marked "not confirmed by the operator" are listed by the Sinai Trail, on OpenStreetMap or in guides but could not be checked on their own page. Between Ras Shetan and St Katherine you sleep in wild camps chosen by your Bedouin guides, in your own tent or under the stars; the team cooks and camels carry the water. Map points for camps the Sinai Trail does not publish are approximate.
