Camp 2 (High Camp) – agency tent camps

  • Seasonal — call ahead

The high camp, at about 4,200 m on rocky ledges below the summit cone, is where groups sleep before the summit push; agency tents only, with cooking by the agency team and water mostly from snowmelt. It is much colder and windier than Camp 1, and in season it runs from about mid-June to mid-October.

Insulated survival shelter set up at Camp 2 in 2026 by the Doğubayazıt District Governorship, with first aid supplies, radios and an emergency button linked to the 112 call centre. It is a refuge for climbers caught by bad weather or altitude sickness while they wait for rescue, not a normal camp; its exact position is not yet mapped, so the point shown is Camp 2.

Group-only tent site at about 4,100-4,200 m beside the main path, mapped on OpenStreetMap. Your agency decides which Camp 2 site you use.

Checked online in October 2026. Places marked "not confirmed by the operator" are listed on OpenStreetMap or in the news but could not be checked on an official page. On the mountain you sleep only in the tent camps of your licensed agency, which you book together with the permit; independent camping is not allowed. The camps run from about mid-June to mid-October.
