On Mount Ararat you sleep in the tent camps of your licensed agency at Camp 1 (3,200 m) and Camp 2 (4,200 m), with meals cooked by the agency team and horses carrying the bags. You cannot camp independently: a permit, a licensed agency and a local guide are compulsory. Book the climb at least 30 days ahead so the agency can get your permit, and book a hotel in Doğubayazıt for the nights before and after.
