On the MacLehose Trail there are no huts: you camp at free AFCD campsites or take a bus at the end of the day to a hotel or youth hostel in Sai Kung, Sha Tin, Kowloon, Tsuen Wan or Tuen Mun. Camping is allowed only on designated campsites, first come, first served, except Twisk, which must be booked online. Many campsites have only seasonal stream water, so carry water, a tent and a stove.
