  • Camping
  • Seasonal — call ahead

Camp at 1,553 m (5,096 ft) in a meadow bowl on the Ohanapecosh River below Panhandle Gap, the high point of the loop, with 4 individual sites, a group site in a historic stone shelter, and a toilet. Fill up with water here: there is none before Nickel Creek.

Checked online in October 2026. Places marked "not confirmed by the operator" are listed on OpenStreetMap or in guides but could not be checked on an official page. Camps on the Wonderland Trail are run by Mount Rainier National Park: marked tent sites for up to 5 people, a pit or composting toilet, bear poles or boxes and a water source nearby, but no shelter or supplies. Camp only on your permitted site, treat all water and never light a fire.
