On the Tour of Monte Rosa you sleep in mountain huts (rifugi and Hütten) and in hotels and hostels in the villages. Most huts are open only from June or early July to mid-September, and some stages have only one or two places to sleep, so book every night ahead for July and August. In summer 2026 the Rifugio Gabiet is closed; sleep at the Albergo del Ponte or in Stafal. Carry Swiss francs and euros in cash and a sleeping-bag liner. Wild camping is not allowed in most places; there are campsites in Alagna, Macugnaga and Randa.
