Season notes from our guide

The best months are October and November: clear skies, dry trails and stable weather, but also the busiest lodges. March to May is the second season, with the rhododendron forest in bloom in March and April and more haze and afternoon cloud later in spring. From December to February it is cold and clear; snow often lies above Low Camp, water pipes freeze at High Camp and the ridge to base camp can be icy or closed. The monsoon (June to September) brings daily rain, leeches in the forest, cloud over the peaks and landslides on the roads.
