On the Hump Ridge Track you sleep in two lodges run by the Tuatapere Hump Ridge Track Trust, Okaka and Port Craig, booked only as a walking package on the Trust website; DOC hut passes are not valid. The lodges have gas kitchens with cooking gear, so you need no tent or stove, but bring a sleeping bag and your lunches. Book a night in Tuatapere before you start, because you must check in at the track office.
