Stage 1 of the High Coast Trail covers 10.9 km from Hornöberget to Lövvik, with 222 m of ascent and 261 m of descent. The highest point is 105 m. Allow about 4.5 hours of walking, plus breaks.

Unstaffed service house at the Lövvik guest harbour, on the trail at the end of stage 1, with two rooms of three beds, a shared kitchen, showers, toilet, drinking water, sauna and wifi; there are also small cabins and pitches. Book and pay online; open 1 June to 30 September in 2026.
Two guest cottages with their own shower and toilet in the village, about 0.3 km from the trail; breakfast is included and dinner or a packed lunch can be ordered the day before. No rooms on the evenings of the Lövvik open-air theatre in 2026.
Summer-only restaurant and café on the trail in Lövvik, with a small shop for bread, dairy and other basics; the trail office says you can buy provisions here from mid-June to mid-August.
ArkNat architect-designed wind shelter on Kulberget, right on the trail about 1.5 km before Lövvik, with room to sleep on the floor. Free, cannot be booked; share with other hikers.
Family-run hotel at the north end of the High Coast Bridge, right at the trail start, with a restaurant and a tourist information desk staffed in summer; it also sells gas canisters. Hikers can leave a car here: the first 24 hours are free, then SEK 100 per night, paid at reception.
Turn-of-the-century hotel and restaurant on the shore of the Ångermanälven at Nyadal, about 0.5 km off the first kilometre of the trail, with rooms looking at the High Coast Bridge.
Checked online in October 2026. Places marked "listed, not confirmed" appear in the official trail guidebook or on OpenStreetMap but not on a current official listing or their own website. The trail huts and wind shelters are free, cannot be booked and must be shared, so carry a tent. Hostels, B&Bs and campsites in the villages have only a few rooms and many open only in summer: book ahead for June to August.
