Family-run hotel and restaurant by the spa park in the centre of Schonach, about 2 km below the Wilhelmshöhe.

Bookable forest trekking camp about 300 m off the Westweg, roughly 1.5 km before the Wilhelmshöhe: pitches for three tents, fire pit and small toilet, no water. Open 1 May to 31 October; book online.
Checked online in October 2026. Places marked "listed, not confirmed" appear on a public listing (OpenStreetMap or the official Westweg stage planner) but could not be confirmed on their own website. Unterstmatt, Hark, the Wilhelmshöhe, the Kalte Herberge and the Wiedener Eck have only one or two places on the trail, many inns have a weekly rest day (Ruhetag), and several close for a few weeks in November: book ahead and check the opening days.
