Gîtes usually open at about 14:00 to 15:00 and serve dinner at 19:00; book by phone or online and say if you want half board, and call if you will not arrive. Many accept only cash or a French cheque. Several baggage-transfer services carry bags between gîtes; book them the evening before at the latest.
