Stage 2 of the Stubai High Trail covers 15.5 km from Starkenburger Hütte to Franz-Senn-Hütte, with 953 m of ascent and 1,027 m of descent. The highest point is 2,542 m. Allow about 7.5 hours of walking, plus breaks.

The largest hut on the route (ÖAV Innsbruck, 2,147 m): about 170 places, 80 beds and 90 dorm places, with hot showers and wifi. Summer 2026 ran from 11 June until it closed on 27 September; online booking covers dorms only, and bookings are binding.
