Mount Kenya Sirimon–Chogoria Traverse accommodation: huts, camps & bandas by stage

17 huts, campsites and bandas at 12 stops on the trail, from the Sirimon Gate to the Chogoria Gate. Pick a stage to see altitudes, hut fees, camping and booking contacts.

On the Sirimon side you sleep in private self-catering bunkhouses at Old Moses and Shipton's, or camp beside them; on the Chogoria side there are only campsites, at Mintos (Hall Tarns) and the Roadhead, and the Meru Mt Kenya bandas by the gate. A KWS-certified guide is compulsory, so almost everyone books huts, campsites, crew and park fees as one package with a local operator. Book the busy months (January–February and August–September) well ahead.
