Nights on the Alta Via 2 are in mountain refuges (rifugi), most with half board: dinner, a bed in a dorm or small room, and breakfast. Most open from about 20 June to the second half of September. Book ahead for July and August; some CAI huts are booked on the CAI PrenotaRifugi website. Bring cash, as card payment does not always work, and a sleeping-bag liner. Wild camping is not allowed.
