George Point

George Point campsite (QPWS)

  • Camping
  • Seasonal — call ahead

Open camping area at the southern end of Mulligan Bay where the boat to Lucinda picks you up. There is no fresh water, and the toilet was removed because of erosion (park alert until 30 June 2027). Cross Mulligan Creek at low tide on the way in.

Checked online in October 2026. Places marked "not confirmed by the operator" are listed on OpenStreetMap or booking sites but could not be checked on an official page. The camps on the Thorsborne Trail are run by the Queensland Parks and Wildlife Service and booked as one Thorsborne Trail pass, not site by site. Most have composting toilets and pack racks; none has drinking water, so treat creek water. No campfires: cook on a fuel stove.
