Checked online in October 2026. Places marked "listed, not confirmed" appear on a public listing (OpenStreetMap or the Rennsteig accommodation list of the Thüringer Wald tourism board) but could not be confirmed on their own website. Places on the Rennsteig are small family businesses; book ahead, tell your host if you will arrive late, and carry cash, as some take no cards. Several inns and tour companies carry bags between overnight stops; book luggage transfer in advance, and note that many holiday flats want a minimum stay of two nights.
