Checked online in October 2026. Places marked "listed, not confirmed" appear on a public listing (the Kiso Tourism Federation, a post-town tourist association or OpenStreetMap) but could not be confirmed on their own website. Inns on the Nakasendo Way are small and fill up in April, late October and November and at weekends; book ahead, tell your host your arrival time, and expect dinner at about 18:00. Between Magome and Tsumago a luggage service carries bags for 1,000 yen each (20 March to 30 November); on other days ask your inn about sending bags by courier (takkyubin).
The Nakasendo Way route works offline in Outest, with these places on the map and a trail guide you can ask about water, weather and the next village.
