Two FÍ huts by the lake at 550 m with 72 places in total (40 + 32), sleeping bag accommodation, gas-stove kitchens and a toilet house with paid showers; large campsite next to the huts. Open with wardens usually about 25 June–17 September, reachable by 4x4 on road F210; book in advance, mobile signal available.
Small summer restaurant run by Volcano Trails (Volcano Huts) next to the Álftavatn huts, serving soup lunch, a set dinner, takeaway lunch packs, coffee, beer and snacks, daily 11:30–23:00 when open. Meals can be pre-booked online; opening dates depend on trail conditions and the 2027 dates are not yet announced. Coordinates are approximate.
