Village campsite on the ridge at Ioribaiwa, the point where the Japanese advance stopped in September 1942, with tent sites and village huts (guesthouses) shared first come, first served. Camping and hut fees are paid to the village through your operator.
Campsite by Ofi Creek, about 2.5 km past Ioribaiwa on the descent, known for one of the best swimming holes on the track (about 625 m). Used by groups that push on beyond Ioribaiwa.
Open campsite on Ua-Ule Creek, 3.5 km before Ioribaiwa after the Golden Staircase climb over Imita Ridge; it is also the farthest point of the KTA short-trek option from Owers Corner. Many creek crossings nearby, so expect wet feet.
Checked online in October 2026. Places marked "not confirmed by the operator" are named in trek operator itineraries, older listings or on OpenStreetMap but have no official page; village sites change, so your operator decides where you sleep. Village huts and campsites cannot be booked and are shared first come, first served; your licensed operator pays the landowner fees and carries tents or hammocks.
