The huts and campsites on the Heaphy Track are run by the Department of Conservation (DOC) and must be booked. Huts have bunks with mattresses, heating, toilets and cold water, and most have gas cookers (not Brown or Gouland Downs). Bring a sleeping bag, pots and food; campers cannot use the huts.
