Informal camping at the spring and pool below Kooigoedhoogte, by the painted 50 km sign where the Kooigoedhoogte shortcut starts, with the Three Sisters rocks nearby; no facilities. Start the shortcut early the next morning before the heat.

The Fish River Canyon Hiking Trail runs through the ǀAi-ǀAis/Richtersveld Transfrontier Park and is managed by Namibia Wildlife Resorts (NWR) and the Ministry of Environment, Forestry and Tourism. There are no huts, toilets or water points: camp on the sand above the river, cook on a stove (fires are not allowed), bury toilet waste in soft sand and carry out all rubbish.
